PRA Super Street In the 9's?

A little something to get you excited about the upcoming season. There are rumors on the West Coast that the Pro Racing Association (PRA) Super Street catagory will see its first nine second pass in '07. The current record holder in the Super Street catagory is David Stark with a 10.194 during Bugorama #57 at Sacramento Raceway in May of 2006. The Super Street catagory is a weight per cubic inch Heads-Up class. It is limited to pan based VW bodied cars with normally aspirated engines.

The 2006 PRA Super Street champion was Joe Maestas.

The PRA begins its season on April 15th with the Chapman Volkswagen Bugorama at Firebird Raceway in Chandler, AZ.

If/when somebody dips into the nine second range or the record is broken we will have the story.
