During the 2007 National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) season ACDRM.com is going to report about the happenings of former air cooled drag racer Corey McClenathan.After a disappointing first round loss two weeks ago Cory McClenathan and the NHRA head to Phoenix, Arizona for the second stop of the NHRA's 2007 season. Cory is currently tied for 11th place in the NHRA Top Fuel point standings with 32 points. He trail leader J.R. Todd by 82 points.At the conclusion of the first round of qualifying McClenathan is in the #15 spot after he shook the tires right off the line and only managed a 9.924 ET at 80.70 MPH.
UPDATE #1 - 2/23/07 (Qualifying - Round 2) - Cory will head into Saturday on the outside looking in. On his second qualifying attempt tire smoke was his downfall and ran a 12.269 ET at 75.66 MPH and is in the #17 position
UPDATE #2 - 2/24/07 (Qualifying - Round 3) - Drops cylinders off the line and can only muster a 5.581 ET at 166.17 MPH. With only one qualifying attempt left Cory is in the 18th position.
UPDATE #3 - 2/24/07 (Qualifying - Round 4) - Cory moved into the top half of the field with a pass of 4.516 ET at 327.51 MPH. If everything stays the same as it is now, Cory would face Larry Dixon in the first round of eliminations on Sunday.
UPDATE #4 - 2/25/07 (Eliminations - Round 1) - Cory runs a 4.528 ET at 322.65 MPH and beats Larry Dixon to advance to the second round. Larry was first off the line but went went up in smoke. Cory faces #1 qualifier Tony Schumacher in the second round of eliminations.
UPDATE #5 - 2/25/07 (Eliminations - Round 2) - Tony Schumacher ends Cory's day with a 4.461 ET at 324.90 MPH. Cory was dropping cylinders soon after the run started and the chute came out at about half track and only could muster 5.223 ET at 164.33 MPH.
