October 21, 2007 - PRO STOCK NATIONALS . . .
Agent Aircooled has learned that the 2008 Pro Stock Nationals may be held in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This is only speculation at this point and no dates have been announced but would certainly be a great venue to hold this event.
June 4, 2007 - STEVE TYO'S PRO STOCKER . . .
Making a stop in Fredricksburg, TX last April, Agent Aircooled spotted this Pro Stock Drag Bug reportedly owned by San Antonio's Steve Tyo. Tyo is a member of both the Texas Volkswagen Drag Racing Association (TVWDRA) and the Texas Pro Racing Association (TxPRA) and we could see it run down the drag strip this month at the next TVWDRA/TxPRA event.
May 28, 2007 - UNLIMITED STREET EAST 2007 . . .
Agent Aircooled has wandered east and found these pictures of a car with a new motor combo that will be hitiing the track at the Unlimited Street East 2007 event on June 17th at Motor Mile Dragway. The motor on this VW owned by an unnamed driver has been recently built and sports over 500 HP. MAY 8, 2007 - ANOTHER PRO MOD LURKING . . .
In a garage somewhere on the West Coast this Pro Mod VW Bug is waiting until the day it can unleash its fury and claim a few more records for it's owners. Another addition to the PRA Pro Mod scene will be nice but we are not sure if this one will debut in '07 or '08 so keep an eye out.
MARCH 1, 2007 - RETURN OF A CHAMPION . . .
Aircooled Agent has been spotted lurking in the OC and has some interesting news to report. The current buzz on the streets is that a former S/S car with some championship history might be making its return to S/S competition with a new driver and some big, big horsepower . . .
FEBRUARY 15, 2007 - PRO MOD GETTING SERIOUS MAKEOVER . . .
Agent Aircooled recently discovered that a PRA Pro Mod driver will have a new look for the 2007 season, not only on the outside but underneath the decklid. The agent also discovered that this same racer has given the motor building duties to an old Pro Turbo engine builder. As the PRA opener in April nears it looks like they will be Under Pressure to get it done in time . . .
FEBRUARY 8, 2007 - ANOTHER 10 SECOND DRKC CAR?
Word on the street is that there is another car being built for the famous Der Renn-Kafer Cup (DRKC) series that will have the potential to run DEEP into the 10's. In a class where looks are just as important as producing horsepower it's definately going to be challange to reset the bar once set by Rich Dickson. Dickson was the first in the class to see a 10 second time slip. With the names behind this project, it's sure to open some eyes and get people talking. This rumor could become reality around May at Bugorama #59 being held at Sacramento Raceway Park but only time will tell . . .
JANUARY 30, 2007 - HAMMER DOWN . . .
Rumors have been circling that an old front engine dragster from the past has recently received a make over and will be returning to action with twin turbos attached to the massive power plant . . . Agent Aircooled hasn't quite NAILed down who it is yet but when I do you will be the first to know.
