KS - After three rounds of qualifying Cory McClenathan
survived being on the bump spot and will face #1 qualifier Joe
Hartley in the first round of eliminations on Sunday, June 3rd.
McClenathan is currently tenth in the NHRA POWERade
Championship Point Standings, 163 points behind current point leader
Rod Fuller. He is coming off his best finish of the season at
the O'Rielly Midwest Nationals in Madison, IL when he made it to the
finals but lost to Melanie Troxell.
UPDATE #1 / ROUND 1
ELIMINATIONS: A pedal fest from almost the very
beginning. McClenathan got it hooked back up quicker and takes
the win. McClenathan ran a 5.834 ET at 240.42 MPH to
Hartley's 8.183 ET at 137.67 MPH. He will face David Grubnic
in the second round and will have lane choice.
UPDATE #2 / ROUND 2
ELIMINATIONS: Another pedal fest for McClenthan and
his opponent, David Grubnic. Grubnic was able to pedal a
little better and got the win light, putting Cory Mac on the
trailer.
