NASA PRO-VW DRAG RACING SERIES RACE #4

SACRAMENTO, CA (May 6, 2007) - What a better way to spend Cinco de Mayo (or any holiday for that fact) then at the drag strip. That is exactly what the NASA Pro-VW Drag Racing Series competitors did on Saturday, May 5th. This was the first race since March 4th and I am sure many were anxious to get back to to the track. Mother Nature and her brutal winds couldn't keep the race from going on but it did limit it to 1/8 mile contests instead of the normal 1/4 mile passes.

At the end of the day it was '06 NASA Champion and ACDRM.com Driver of the Year Greg Schmidt over John Rocha in the finals. (ET and MPH numbers hopefully coming soon) For his victory Greg was awarded a case of oil from Meyer Racing, $50.00 jackpot, $50.00 from Bugformance of Sacramento, a story w/photo in Grassroots Motorsports Magazine and the winners trophy and decal for his car. For his efforts John drove away with $35.00 jackpot and a trophy. Other winners on the day included Wayne Axford (Best Package Round 1 - $25.00 from Mellow Insanity Racing and Best Light - $50.00 from Bugformance of Sacramento), Nathan Cole (Bounty Hunter Award - $50.00 from Greg's VW Service) and Chris Brown (Top Qualifier - $25.00 from Mountain View Home Improvement and a t-shirt from Bugformance of Sacramento).

The next race on the schedule will be a double points race on July 22nd at Sacramento Raceway.
